Requirements

  • Minimum age for hourly rides is 7 years old. 
  • Minimum age for Mountain Ride and Homestead Ride is 12 years old. 
  • Maximum weight limit of 300 pounds.
  • ​Dress - Completely enclosed shoes/boots are required; no sandals, flip flops, etc. Long pants are recommended.
  • For safety, we require all riders to wear a riding helmet, provided by us. 
  • 2 person Minimum

Our 1 hour and 2 hour rides are perfect for any outdoor enthusiast looking for an adventure. All of our rides are private rides booked with your group only. We give you the opportunity to ride a horse through the forest with creek crossings and mountain terrain, our trails are level to moderately slopped. With us you will be given the opportunity to travel on your horse the way people traveled before the automobile, a real chance opportunity with our guide to experience horse riding the way it was meant to be.

Ride The Jackson River

This ride is 3 hours and rides a trail that crosses the river 2-3 times. The ride is very scenic and offers one of the best of Bath County's natural beauty as you meander along the Jackson River, and periodically cross the river and travel through the wilderness.


16 years and Older Only!

This ride meets at 1106 Jackson River Turnpike Hot Springs, VA 24445 ***Please allow for additional time as we will trailer the horses 15-20 minutes to the trail.


 


Ride The Rail Trail

This ride is on a reclaimed railroad grade that meanders through the mountains accompanying the Jackson River.


This trail will periodically leave the river and become a wooded trail and is a level flat grade.


16 years and Older Only!

This ride meets at 1106 Jackson River Turnpike Hot Springs, VA 24445***Please allow for additional time as we will trailer the horses 15 minutes to the trail.




Douthat State Park Ride

This ride meets at the horse trailer parking lot at the Flat Run Trailhead. This ride is a private guided ride and is not affiliated with Douthat State Park. You must check-in and purchase a parking permit, 

prior to meeting your guide @ The Park Office

Rides at this location are conducted on State property in the George Washington National Forest.

16 years and older only!

For those with an adventurous spirit, we offer a trail riding experience through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Trips include fording the Tye River and gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Parkway. You will enjoy stunning views as you follow the ridge lines of Fork Mountain, with a maximum elevation of 3245 feet. You can choose to travel along the historic, narrow gaged railroad bed known as the Irish Creek Railway. This ride will allow you to explore an abandoned logged homestead, now only accessible by horseback or on foot.
